Garden design, hand drawing, naturalistic planting and charred cedar river hut

Naturalistic riverfront garden

This design is inspired by the rivulets of the river Kennet, which flows at the end of the garden. The naturalistic spacial design provides a generous lawn space, woodland walk, wildflower path and river hideaway hut. The planting design introduces structural planting suited to the moist soil, such as Salix alba ‘Britzensis’, deep herbaceous borders full of wildlife friendly plants, and native wildflower/grass seed mixes.

The hard landscaping materials have been selected to be in keeping with the house and location, such as the charred cedar wood used in fencing and river hut, contemporary clay pavers and a local grey stone for the sitting wall.
